Langkawi is a small island but so calm and really nice place for spend your holiday time. Not too far from Kuala Lumpur, by plane just around 1 hour and I really suggest you to visit Langkawi...

The first time you arrive in the airport you will see the signboard " Langkawi Kota Bebas Pajak" or Langkawi The Duty Free City.

Many beaches in Langkawi like Cenang beach, Kok beach, Tengah beach, Pasir Hitam beach, Tanjung Rhu (Casuarina) beach, Datai bay, Burau bay, Teluk Yu beach.

When we talk about Langkawi not only one big island is called Langkawi but also around 100 small islands around Langkawi island such as Dayang Bunting, Singa Besar, Payar, Rebak, Tuba, Beras Basah and still many small islands.

Other interesting areas such as Kuah Town where you can find malls, duty free shops and Eagle Square Park. Under water Langkawi near Cenang beach and also Cable Car in Mat Chincang Mountain, Telaga Tujuh and also many resorts such as Awani Porto, Berjaya and etc

In the airport you can take free map of Langkawi and you can rent a car which the prices are vary depend on the car that you choose. I rent proton matic not new but still ok only 80 RM for 24 hours, actually this price still expensive, you can get new proton matic with the same price. If you dont want to rent a car from the airport, you can go to the town first but the taxi from airport to the city it is cost 18 RM/person.

The crowded place and the favourite place to stay is Cenang Beach area, I stayed in Aseana Hotel and this is a nice 3 stars hotel and quite cheap around 150 RM/night including breakfast and closed to the beach to Hoping Island.

It is very easy to drive car in Langkawi island because the road so quiet and all poeple drive so slowly around 60 kms/hour and so many signboard and you will never lost your way. Along the way to the Aseana hotel, we passed Pantai Cenang area and so many seafood restaurants, shops in both side of the road.

So many seafood restaurants around Cenang or Kok areas but I suggest "Orkhid Ria" Seafood restaurant in Cenang area, the most crowded restaurand comparing with others and the price and the food really really recommended..... 100 grams fresh lobster only 16 RM thats really cheap, try the geropa in ABC sauce and also grilled lobster hmm yummy but I dont recommend the noodles there.

Other interesting places are cable car in Mat Chincang Mountain which is around 1 hour from Cenang area to this place by car. You will hike around 710 meters high to the top of Mat Chincang mountain by cable car and it has 2 stops one is in the 625 m high and the second is in 710 m high. This is really interesting because so foggy and it was quite experience because the slope so sharp and very high. You can try a hanging bridge in the first stop if you dare to do it.

Other interesting place is Kuah Town which you can find many duty free shops here and the price is really cheap, for example a pack of chocolate which is sold 12 RM,and when you buy in KL Duty free around 21.9 RM and in Singapore in the Duty Free is 12 SGD hm it is really really cheap, isnt?

Under water world is nice place to visit too, especiallfy for kids.

Giant Budha Lantao Island Hong Kong

If you visit Hong Kong, I suggest you to visit the Giant Budha by Ngong Ping Cable Car. We can say this is "a journey of Englihtenment" which involves a stunning 5.7 kms cable car ride up the side of a mountain to Ngong Ping village. The cable car travels from Tung Chung offering panoramic views encompassing sea and mountains.

You can take MTR and stop in Tung Chung MTR exit B and Ngong Ping Skyrail's Tung Chung Terminal is only a few minutes walk from this station and also you can take bus 23 from Tung Chung town center or you can take ferry from Central Pier 6 (Hong Kong MTR/Airport Express Exit E1) walk trough IFC Mall) in Central to Mui Wo, Lantau Island, then take bus 2.

It takes around 25 minutes for the cable car to pass 5.7 kms cables and will end in the location of Tian Tan Giant Budha which is claimed as the biggest and the tallest outdoor seated bronze Budha sits serenely a top Ngong Ping Plateau amid specatular mountain scenery. Last admission is around 05.30 PM so it will be better if you come in the morning around 10.00 AM.

The weight of the bronse Budha is around 250 tons from more than 202 pieces of bronze and 24 meters height. You should hike around 268 stairs before you reach to the top of the hill.

The Budha Tian Tan is encircled by eight smaller statues which reflects the God Eternity.

Many local photographers will welcome you and offering their service for taking pictures which is cost around 20 HKD for one picture.

You can try the traditional chinese tea or foods and many shops where you can find souvenirs as your remambrance of Ngong Ping Village or do you want to enjoy the Monkeys tale theater? The Monkey's Tale Theatre presents a charming and comical 'show' inspired by the famous Buddhist Jataka stories. Trips for Travelling in Bangkok & Place for Halal Food

Several tips for travelling in Bangkok especially if this is the first time for you to go to Bangkok by yourself and is not arranged by travel agent or tour group
1. Make sure you already have a complete map of Bangkok including the BTS and Subway line maps and also information about the interesting places in Bangkok and how to reach there.
2. When you choose the hotel or accomodation should be check either the hotel location is close to BTS/Subway station or not. If not you will spend more time and money for going to the station from your hotel and not easy to deal with tuk-tuk or taxi driver.
3. Make sure you have the complete address of your hotel or accomodation place including in Thai Language, it will be easier for you if you ask some one about the place.
4. Buy the ticket of BTS for 1 day or 3 days trip it will be really saving your money.
5. If you want to visit the temples, you start from morning because the temples are mostly closed at 04.00 - 05.00 PM.
6. When you start your trip for visiting temple, you can start from Hua Lam Phong subway station and explore the chinatown area first and go the side of the river or... Starting from Saphan Thaksin BTS station and go down to the Central Pier and using the public boat you can stop in many temples such as Wat Phra Kew, Wat Po, Wat Arun. I suggest you to choose the last option trough Central Pier because will be cheaper and you can enjoy the Chao Praya River.
7. Dont forget wearing a proper clothes if you want to go to the temple, especially to the Wat Phraw Kew and the King Palace (one location) dont wear just t-shirt and short and slippers!!!
8. Never believe to people who said "This temple is temporary closed" and offering you another temple which is opened once a year and said, "Now is your lucky time because you can visit it and not all people have chances like you!" and they will help you to find a cheap tuk-tuk and finally in that temple some one already waits there and will say hello to you and acts as a Succesfull Thai man who work abroad and go home for holiday and persuade you to go somewhere to buy gems or others.
Why I told you about this because these were my own experiences and even I go to Bangkok many times, I still got this experience until twice.......and the third time when I went to the Wat Phraw Kew, some one told me that the temple was closed this morning and opened only for Royal families were praying during the Budhist day and I didnt care and what???? The temple was opened for public!!! yes...yes....they could not lie me again!!!
9. Please be polite in the temple area, dont be so noisy and put off your cap, your sun glasses and shoes when you enter to the main temple.
10. Dont miss so many delicious foods in the street but if you stomach can be compromised.
11. If you go around please dont forget bring the hotel name card in Thai language so if you are lost it will be easier for you to head back to your hotel
12. If you have no time for buying souvenir, you can go to MBK (Mah Bong Krong) shopping mall and find many Thai souvenir in 5 th floor or 7 floor just ask to the people there because the price is affordable.
13. Chatuchak Market only open during weekend so dont miss it!!! And there is so hot so consider your clothes if you want to go there.
14. Thai Boxing Show and The Joe Louis Puppet Show are interesting things to see but make sure about the time schedule.

Interesting Places in Bangkok

I can say that Bangkok is the heaven for shopping , for sightseeing and also for foods and nightlife. There is a combination between the traditional and modern life, where you can find so many temples and arts and also modern shopping malls. Accomodations are vary in Bangkok from a very cheap one until the 5 stars hotels can be found in Bangkok, also you can find many rental apartments in good qualities but in cheap prices too.
I really like Bangkok especially the foods and the cultures and I hope one day I have a house or an apartment there.
Currently I use my timeshare membership when I stay in Bangkok because the company has 5 home resorts in Thailand and 2 of the home resorts are in Bangkok, 1 in Pattaya, 1 in Phuket and 1 in Koh Samui so I can get cheaper price for accomodation and even just 50% comparing the market price hm so lucky me ya!!! But my friends if you want to get the cheap price like me just contact me, dont worry I can give you my week in affordable price.

Many interesting place that you can visit :

Traditional market :

Chatuchak Market : Many people spell it with catucak or jatujak or cathucak. Open in Friday to Sunday only, a huge traditional market, may be
more than 6 times of sooccer place, you can find so many things not only arts, but also pets, shoes, foods, drinks, I really like the meat balls with kew tiauw which are sold in front of the market.
You can head to the this place by bus (3, 26, 34, 59, 63, 77,145, etc) because this place not too far from Bangsue bus station or by MRT stop in Chatuchak station or by using BTS (Shukumvit Line) stop in Mochit
Several points that you should remember :
[] It is opened only during weekend so dont miss it.
[] Bring your cap and wear casual shirt because so hot and crowded, the shops are mostly in open air and so many alleys there.
[] If you find something nice in a one shop make sure you know the rows/alleys number and remember that because if you want to come back to the shop it is not easy to find it because every row/alleys look like the same.
[] Bargain and bargain.
[] Get the layout of the market, you can find in the tourist information

Suan Lum Night Bazaar (Lumphini) : Open daily from afternoon till night, a huge night market, and the layout so tidy so you can enjoy your shopping time, go around first before you decide to buy because you will find that the price can be different for the same things and mostly the front booths will be more expensive than inside one. Easy to go to this place, you can go by bus, tuk-tuk or by train, if you use MRT just stopped in Lumphini station or by BTS (Silom line) you should stop in Saladaeng station the interchange with MRT and take the MRT to Lumphini station.

If you are hungry it has a huge footcourt like a soocer place and surrounded by food & beer stalls, find popular beers like Singha, Heineken or others beer, Thai local bands will accompany your dinner and also many pubs or resto with nice and cozy athmosperes and also you can see the Joe Louise Puppet Show!! Like wayang golek in Indonesia or water puppet in Vietnam. The plots make use of the Ramayana Epics. You can see the Thai Boxing in Lumpini Boxing Stadium but remember that the activities are held every Tuesday and Friday from 06.00 PM to 10.00PM and Saturday from 05.00 PM to 08.30 PM except important Budhist Days.

Things to remember :
[] Dont buy in a rush except you have no a plenty of time because you can find many interesting things and cheaper price for the same things.
[] Make sure that you are ready and have enough to walk around the bazaar.
[] Enjoy the food and the music in the big food court but I dont recommend for the taste because just so so and not really cheap, better you have dinner in several pubs or resto near the puppet show place.

Bobei/Bobae Market : Actually this is a flea market and the grocery market mostly for clothes, where you can buy in cheaper price but should by in minimum order quantity. For example like Thai T-Shirt which is sold in modern market/shoppingmall around 100 – 120 Bth/pieces you get in Bobey around 600 – 900 Bth/dozen. No MRT or BTS line to this place but you can take bus or the easiest way to reach Bobae Market is through the speed boat at Khlong Saen Sab (Saen Sab Canal) their are many piers to get on it however the easy one would be the Pratunam Pier (opposite of World Trade Center) under the small canal bridge or by bus (53), It also has modern shopping mall there. Oh ya from Muslim people you can find the msoque for praying and Muslim community in this area. I heard the Bobae market was on fire?. Hm if It is really happened I will be miss the memories there, crowded people, bargain and many indian merchants there and I also can find Indonesian batik is made from Pekalongan he he and also have lunch beside the small river.

Things to remember :
[] Open daily but mostly closed around 05.00 PM so better you go there in the morning.
[] Bargain and bargain in this place.

Pratunam Market :a well know wholesale shopping market that basically offers clothes. Get the wholesale price you'll need to buy at least 3 pieces of the same item. Conveniently centered at the corner of Rathchaprarop and New Petchaburi Roads but it covers a much broader area extending up Rathchaprarop to the Indra Hotel. It includes a vast covered area bounded by these streets called "City Complex". Walking distance from World Trade Center and Panthip Plaza. Thailand's tallest building (Baiyoke 2 Tower) is part of the market.

Patpong Night Market :The famous place for bargain, its look like Ladies Market in Mong KoK Hongkong or Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur or Mustofa Market in Singapore, you can find many things and even the nightlife from tiger show, life shows especially for adults. Very easy to find this place, just take BTS (Silom line and stop in Silom or by MRT stop in Saladaeng. But if you stay in the place where not BTS Silom Line or MRT and you can find BTS (Sukhumvit line) just take the BTS go to the Siam station and stop there and change with BTS Silom line to Silom station. I guess you will really enjoy the nightlife there especially for the bachelors ha ha, but wifes be carefull if your husbands go to this place alone!

Nana Night Market : Near the Sukhumvit area and easy to find because you can use the BTS Sukhumvit line and stop in Nana station but this market not so big like Lumphini or Patpong

Modern Shopping Malls :Siam Centre, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, Siam Paragon, MBK, all of the modern shopping mall which are located in Ratchaprasong area, easy to find, you can just ystop National Stadium station and started from MBK or from BTS interchange in Siam.
Isetan, Central World, Erawan, Amarin Plaza, Gaysorn, President Tower Arcade, and other shopping center , you can find in Sukhumvit road, which can be reached by stopping in Chit Lom station (BTS Sukhumvit line)
My suggestion for complete shopping mall is MBK which you can find traditional Thai food, Thai souvenir in the 7th Floor, movies, silks and its a huge shopping mall too.

Yaowaraj (China Town) : the place that you should visit, you can reach by boat and stop in Rajchawong Pier or by bus (4, 7, 25, 49, 73, 730 etc), this place is not close to BTS or subway so the nearest BTS is National Stadium but the nearest way actually by subway to Hua Lam Phong station and find the Yaowaraj (Yaowarat) road. Along the road lies gold shops, stores selling imported products from China, food outlets, and the old market, a local market for fresh and dried chinese foods, and in the evening it will be converted to be food market which is one of the longest in Bangkok

Khao San Road : this place becomes famous and famous among backpackers and tourists and one of the most economical tourist place because of moderately priced
accomodation and nightlife attractions. Easy to find this place, actually in the north of Wat Phrakew and not too far from the Democracy monument and the Wat Suthatthep Wararam and Giant Swing but no subway or BTS line to this place and you can use Bus (53, 506, 516, etc) or by boat and stop in Phra Arthit Pier

Thai Cooking School : The famous Thai Cooking School is Blue Elephant, it is also a Royal Thai Cuisine resto, easy to find this place just take the BTS (Silom Line) and stop in Surasak station. Another cheap cooking school is Silom Cooking School by Sanusi Mareh, quite interesting because you will visit market, prepare all stuff, cooking and enjoy your foods

Thai Temples : So many temples (wat) in Bangkok, I can say Bangkok is the thousands temple city (actually around 887 temples), from the plane when it will land, you can see the shinning and sparkling roofs with golden ornaments thats will be temples.
Many famous temple especially located along the Chao Phraya river and China Town. My suggestions if you want to explore the temples, you should start it from morning because mostly temple will be closed around 05.00 PM and you can start from Saphan Thaksin Station (the last station of BTS Silom line). Go down from the station, below the station you will find the Central Pier and take the public boat not private boat, It is really cheap just for 8 Bath you can go to the temples.

Wat Phrakew & King PalaceYou can stop in Tha Chang Pier (Pier 9) (asked to the person who sells the ticket)
and start with Wat Phrakew or Budha Emerald Temple and King Palace, just walk straight from the Pier and dont believe to the persons who said that the temple is closed temporary due to the Royal families activities or whatever because they just want you to go to other temple which their friend already there and they will persuade you to go the gem stones store or other places where they get commissions!!! Really be carefull!!! They are so nice and polite but actually they are a syndicate!!! Why can I told you like this because I got the same experiences twice not only once he he so stupid me ya, altough I go to Bangkok many times.
The ticket to the temple and King Palace for around 250 Baths, it is the most expensive admission because other temples only for 20 to 40 Baths. Please remember wear long trouses and polo shirt and no slippers or sandals because this is the King Palace and wear in proper and polite if not you should borrow it in the entrance gate hmm but I never suggest it!!!
Take pictures and enjoy the carving, the scluptures and the scenes, all are in gold colour and so beautifull.

Wat Pho (Reclining Budha Temple)
From the Wat Phra Kew you can take left side and go to the Wat Pho and just walk not too far, the admission fee around 20 Baths and you can see the Giant Reclining Budha inside the temple and many tombs are covered with China Ceramics, blue and white, yellow, red colours, and also the statue of Marcopolo and Kwan Kong. You can try the Thai massage in these area, Massagers who graduate from Wat Pho massage school are very famous, because it has massage training and also traditional medication. The admission is cost for 50 Bths. From this temple you can just go straight to the Pier #8 (Tien Pier) and take a boat to other temple which you can see just cross the river it is called Wat Arun (temple of dawn)

Wat Arunratchawararam (Wat Arun)You can see the gigantic stupa around 82 meters in height and around 234 meters in width. Old and beautifull temple, you can find many shops are located behind the temple and the price are affordable because this temple not really crowded like Wat Phrakew or Wat Pho.
You can climd the temple but be carefull the stairs are so steep but after you are in the top you can see the beautifull scenery and the Chaopraya river




Wat Traimit (Golden Budha Image)
You can find 5 tons Budha Image from gold, which is titled "Phra Sukothaitraimit". The admission fee is 20 Bths, the temple not so big but really cramped with many visitors.
You can reach this place by subway and stop in Hua Lamphong station before you visit China Town you will find this temple.


Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram (The Marble Temple)Regarded as a first class royal temple, walls are adorned with the finest marble from Italy. This temple is located in Rama V road, no BTS or subway line to this place so you can use bus (16, 23, 72, 503, 505, 509), nice place to visit and please bring your umbrella or cap so hot because not many trees in front of temple and it is made from with marble and really dazzling.

Wat Barwornnivet Wihan (Wat Bon or Wat Baworn)This temple is close to the Khao San road and located in Pranakorn and no BTS or subway lines to this place, but you can you bus (12, 56, 68). I really like the ornament inside the temple with Chinese carved door and also the mural in the wall. Nice temple to see

Wat Suthatthep Wararam and Giant SwingIt was build as a monumental landmark of Kingdom during King Rama 1, the unique things that it has a giant swing and no stupa here! Different with other temple. This temple is located in Pranakorn and can be reached by boat and stop in Saphan Phut Pier, cross the Pakklong Talad (Flower Market) because this temple is close to the flower market and also by bus (12, 35, 42, 508, nice temple to see

Other Wats, still many interesting Wats to see such as Wat Sake (The Golden Mount), Wat Prasrimaha (Wat Kaek), Wat Ratchabophit, Wat Ratchanaddaram, Wat Mahathat, Wat Kalayanamit and etc.

Others interesting places like Jim Thomson House and Museum which easy to reach from National Stadium station by BTS. This a two storey house which top floor consists of rooms with Asian antiques, the ground floow many Thai traditional potteries, antique ceramics fro China and Vietnam and also silk and old clothes.

Kanchanaburi
Around 2 hours from Bangkok, you can visit Kanchanaburi War Cemetry which more than 3000 US, Australia, New Zealand and other countries passed during World War II againts Japan, War Museum, The Bridge on The River Kwai, Rafting on the river, Elephant Trackking also Tiger Temple. Nice place to visit

Tips for Travelling in Kuala Lumpur

Several tips that I can share about Kuala Lumpur :

Accomodations :

Many hotels from budget to 5 stars, but as budget traveller my recommendation for the hotels are :

1. Tune Hotel in Sultan Ismail Street, you can bookdirectly by visiting the website , the room rate will be cheaper if you already booked in advance and many reasons why I put this hotel in No. 1, that you can read in my posting such as the strategic place, closed to the Medan Tuanku Monorail Station, closed to Masjid India area and around you can just walk around 15 minutes to Dataran Merdeka, Pasar Seni (Art Market) and China Town (Petaling Street). Free wifi and desktops in the ground floor.
For the aircondition (AC) better you take the 12 hours package because the price/hour will be cheaper and refundable and also you can use the washing machine in the 7th floor.

2.Pondok Lodge in Changkat Bukit Bintang Street, It is like a boarding house, the location is not so far from Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Alor, you should book first because I am not sure still available room if you go directly to this place. www.pondoklodge.com. Many foreigners and backpackers here.

3.Small guest houses or hotel around Pudu Raya Street (in front of Bus Station) but I dont suggest these areas because to crowded and not really sure for safety.

4.Hotel Nova in the Alor Street, not really cheap around 120 - 150 RM/night but strategic because Alor Street is the place for eating in the evening.

5.Hotel Mandarin or Mirama in Maharajarela Street are just closed to Maharajarela Monorail Station and Petaling Street the room rate around 110 - 150 RM with nice swimming pool in the roof top and not really crowded area.

6.Hotel Agora in Bukit Bintang Street, It is really in the centre of Bukit Bintang walk but should book first because always full and not expesinve around 110 - 150 RM, actually many hotels around Bukit Bintang and you can explore in the internet.

7. Replica Inn Hotel in Changkat Bukit Bintang Street or in Jalan Petaling, cheap and clean, I ever tried Replica Inn in Changkat Bukit Bintang, nice and just in front of Jalan Alor which become a long food stall in the evening.

Food Places :

1.Roti Prata and teh tarik really cheap in Alor Street (around 1 RM per piece of Prata) and also behind the hotel Mandarin Court or hotel Mirama or behind the KL Sentral Monorail Station.

2.Hokkien Mee and Fish Cake in the evening from Maharajarela Station you go straight pass the old temple (Chan See Sue Yen temple) go straight to Petaling Street after pass the car park in left side you see the place. This really nice and delicious mee around 10 RM/person.

3.Sakura Restaurant in Imbi Street, famous for nasi lemak, kantonese and hokkian mee, ice kacang around 25 - 30 RM/person.

4.Food stall in the corner of Imbi Street (near Wisma Imbi), hm so yummy for laksa or curry with yong tau fu, kew tiauw with hainan chicken hm you should visit this place around 10 - 15 RM/person.

5.Masjid India, hm you can find so many traditional foods here, especially during fasting month hm place must be visit.

6.Kampung Bahru, easy to find by KTM stop in Kampung Bahru and turn left and walk around 200 with traditional foods and must visit ! Really malay taste like pulut durian, bubur chacha, many kinds of kuih-kuih (traditional snacks).

7.Dine out in Petaling Street around 25 - 30 RM/person if you want the chinese food excluding beer.

8. Asian Heritage, beside the Imperial Hotel, for clubbing and hang out can be reached by monorail and stop in Medan Tuanku and below the station you can see the lighting of Asian Heritage.



Interesting Places :

1.KL Tower in Puncak Street, just go by Rapid KL Metro Bus from cross section between Bukit Bintang and Sultan Ismail, around 60 or 90 cents/person, you can ask to the Tourist Information in the corner of this road, tell to the
driver that you want to go to the KL Tower and he will stop in the P. Ramlee street. Just walk to the Puncak street around 200 m and from the gate you can go the KL Tower by suttle bus or just walk.

2.Dataran Merdeka and Abdul Samad Building, a big park with the very tall flag pole and National Museum, you can go to this place by take Putra LRT from KL Sentral to Masjid Jamek.

3.Central Market, in this place you can find so many novelty items, and for souvenirs, you can use Putra LTR from KL Sentral ans Stop in Pasar Seni.

4.Petaling Street (China Town), just beside the Central Market, find everything here and bargain and bargain! behind the Petaling Street is Pudu Raya Bus Station so actually not too far from Bukit Bintang and Alor street (if you really like walking like me he he).

5.Bukit Bintang Walk, these area actually around Bukit Bintang & Imbi Street, you can satisfy your shopping, like Orchard in Singapore, thirsty or hungry find so many food places and coffee shops here.

6.KLCC, the twin tower, if you want to take picture in the evening with all beautifull lighting and the tower background, dont come too early come around 07.30 PM because the sky will start to dark. If you want to take picture and the whole tower as your background, you should walk to the park near Mandarin Hotel or Aquaria KLCC and take your pics. After that you can enjoy your shopping in Suria KLCC and for ladies dont forget the Vincci shoes in the ground floor.

7.Mid Valley Shopping Mall, the mega shopping mall, actually it is not to far from KL Sentral but you can go there by KTM komuter to Seremban, just one stop from KL Sentral to Mid Valley. During the luch time or after office hours the traffics to this place are so crowded, you can find nice parks beside this mall.

8.1 Utama, a huge shopping mall in the Bandar Utama Klang Valley, how to go 1 Utama? You can go by bus RapidKL U82 from KL Sentral to Bandar Utama and disembark in 1 Utama, keep your ticket because you can use for you trip going back to KL Sentral and valid for whole day. You can go by LTR from KL Sentral to Kelana Jaya Station, go to the opposite side of the road, by passing the bridge over the road and take taxi for around 15 RM.

9.Ikano, the place of IKEA store, how to go IKEA? you can go by LTR from KL Sentral to Kelana Jaya Station and like the way to 1 Utama, just go the opposite side ot the road and waiting for the Ikano Shuttle Bus Service, but you can also go by taxi from this point only for 10 - 15 RM.

10.Mine Mall, by KTM to Serdang from KL Sentral and go to the opposite side, a shopping mall with a lake and tunnel like in Venice, you can use the boat to the shopping mall.

11.Bery'ls Chocolate Shop, place of choco mania, but make sure that you only buy that what you need not what you want he he, you will be broke, this place is actually behind the Pasar Rakyat in Imbi, one of the bus coach stop (bus from or to KL). You can go this place in a cheaper way by asking the taxi drivers to this place, they will be happy even you just pay for 10 RM for the cost because they will get commision if you buy chocolate here. But be smart because all chocolate really nice especially the chocolate with real pasta of mango or durian he he so yummy.

12. Bandar Sunway or Sunway Lagoon, Istana (Palace), Butterfly and Deer Park, Putra Jaya and others.

Other Interesting Places :
1. Genting Highland
My suggestion: you should spend the night here and feel the breeze, cold, enjoy the indoor and outdoor theme park, sky train and of course casinos!!! May be it is your lucky time.
How to go to Genting, very easy, just go to KL Sentral and asking for the Airasia bus schedule to the Genting or for more frequent schedule just go to bus station like Pudu or Titiwangsa, by monorail you can go to Titiwangsa, go down from the station and the bus station under the station, the cost for around 5-6 RM and will be more expensive on weekend days.

2. Batu Caves
Batu Caves is located in Gombak area (outside KL) limestone cave with 272 stairs if you want to go upstairs, with a huge Lord Murugan Statue ( The War God).
You can reached this place by LTR train to Putra Station in Gombak from KL Sentral and after that you can go to this place by bus 203 or just go by taxi only for 10 RM

Still many interesting places outside Kuala Lumpur like Ipoh, Malaka, Cameroon Hill and I will tell you more in my next story.

KL Trip Day - 1

I went to KL for many many times but this is the first time I write my trip in KL, this time I went to KL not alone but with my sister and brother which this was their first trip to KL.

This trip was 4 days 3 nights trip, started 26/7/2008 to 29/7/2008

Day-1 26/7/2008
We started our trip from Surabaya by Airasia with the flight schedule at 08.20 AM, nothing so special during in the Juanda Airport and on the plane. We arrived in LCCT around 12.10 at noon and after passed the immigration we went to the KL Sentral by Airasia bus only for 9 RM/person or can use other bus with only for 8 RM/person and it took around 1.5 hours to arrive in KL Sentral.Arriving in KL Sentral we went to KL Sentral Monorail station just nearby. Wow so long queueing people wanted to buy the tickets, so we decided to have lunch in Nasi Kandar beside the counter because our stomach could not be compromised he he. I choosed rendang sotong (cuttle fish rendang) and my sister choosed rendang udang (shrimp rendang) and my brother as usual choosed rendang ayam (chicken rendang) hm so yummy because I really like Indian and Malay taste which rich of spices and strong flavours. We just spend for around 20 RM for 3 person including 2 coconut water and ice lemon tea this was not really cheap but it was still OK. Behind the KL Monorail station is an area called Brickfields, you can find many indian foods and halal foods too.

I bought the monorail ticket from KL Sentral to Medan Tuanku, 2.5 RM/person because I stayed in Tune Hotels which located around 200 meters away from Medan Tuanku Station. It took around 15 minutes and we stopped in Medan Tuanku Station and walked to the Hotel.

Tune Hotel is belong to the Airasia company so not wonder the color is red & white like the plane itself and really cheap as a budget hotel, These is really good and smart ideas, how can the price so cheap because you should pay seperately for the usage of AC, you can choose the package for 5 hours or 12 hours AC usage and
refundable. No towel and amnieties and you should pay if you need it, but for me thats good because I seldom use the hotel towel. No drink water for complimentary but the room and shower room is OK. No breakfast but easy to satisfied your hungry, Subway, Kopi Tiam and 24 hours Seven Eleven in the ground floor and also wifi internet free (it has 5 or 6 units desktop).

The other good point is the location in the corner of the junction between Sultan Ismail & Tuanku Abdul Rahman street, easy to find and not to far from Asian Heritage, nice place for night hang out and Masjid India area which you can find flea market for the Real Malay foods, clothes like in Petaling (China Town) and close to the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Dataran Merdeka (Japanese like to go this place).

I think Airasia should give me reward ya because I promoted your hotel he he!!
After I checked in and confirmed my e-booking for 2 rooms (1 single room and 1 double room) and put all bags, we started our cheap trip or tour in Kuala Lumpur.

Starting with walked just cross the hotel and took pictures in front of the Hotel, I was the photographer and my sister and my brother become my models he he. I really happy because altough she is not young anymore 60 years old but always full of passion if I wanted to take her pictures, narcists may be he he.
We went to the Masjid India street, just cross the road in front of Sogo, wow so there was a crowded area in the saturday afternoon, you can bargain for clothes, parsmina, foods, drinks, etc, it is really a interesting place that you must visit. Look at the picture, find so many delicious food like asam laksa penang, nasi briyani, lemang, kropok ikan (like brown snakes or sausages) or like pempek lenjer but the color are brown. We drank the mata kucing (actually this lo han kuo and add dried long an, the chinese herbs drink for reduce body heat) just for 10 RM/cup.

After sightseeing and wondered about the foods we went to the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Dataran Merdeka. Taking picture again he he.

After taking picture in Dataran Merdeka and Sultan Abdul Samad Builiding we walked passed the bridge and went to the Pasar Seni where it is just beside the river. This is a nice place to visit and you can find many souvenir and Malaysian arts even from Indonesia, India and Thailand such as wayang and also traditional foods, the food court in the upstrair is nice place to visit too and behind the Pasar Seni you can find many art shop, painting and also exhibition place for dancing, painting, drama or music.

After enjoying all things, we went out the Pasar Seni and cross the road to Petaling Street (Chinatown) the famous and crowded place for night market. My sister took picture again near the flower shop he he so narcist she is.

We walked around the Petaling and the time was already at 6.00 PM and we went to the KLLC from Petaling by taxi for 20 RM and actually could be 10 RM but I was so tired to bargain. Walking around the Suria KLCC and nothing to buy just took pictures and I bought Vincci shoes in LG of Suria KLCC for my sister. She was so happy because it aws look so nice and comfortable.
Around 7.15 PM we walked out and went to the park beside KLCC to get the good pictures with Petronas Twin Tower background. All the lighting of the building started to put on until to the top and we took several pictures there.

From KLCC by taxi to Imbi Street and paid for 10 RM, we have dinner in Sakura Restaurant, this place is famous for nasi lemak, es kacang and also for hokkien or kantonese mee. I ordered kewtiauw in hokkien style, my sister for hainan chicken rice and my brother as usual didnt not really want to try new food so just nasi goreng belacan he he, hm really nice and full already, it was cost for around 60 RM but really worth it.

After from the resto, we walked to Bukit Bintang Station around 300 meters and went to the hotel around 9.30 PM.

This the first day trip and we was really tired because we had woke up early morning due to the morning flight, slept well and ready for day-2 trip.

KL Trip Day - 2

My alarm rang at 06.00 AM it was still dark outside, .different from the morning in Surabaya at 05.00 it was already so bright. I took a shower and was ready become a"tour guide" again for my sister and brother for the second day. Our plan was to go to Genting Highlands and Batu Caves.We went to the hotel ground floor at around 07.00 AM and bought 3 boxes of nasi goreng and 2 small cup of Tongkat Ali instant Coffee in 7 eleven, for me? water was enough. It was really a simple breakfast and after that we strolled to the Medan Tuanku station and the road was still not really cramped because it was Sunday and mostly the offices were closed
When we arrived in KL Sentral Monorail Station, as usual we passed the road and go to the KL Sentral Station where the first time we came to KL from LCCT. I wanted to try the Airasia Bus from KL Sentral directly to Genting, but alas the next schedule was at 02.00 PM and the time was still at around 08.30 AM wow we had to wait too long and it waste of time, so I decided to head back to the KL Sentral monorail station and took a route to Titiwangsa station where it is just beside the Titiwangsa Bus terminal.

Hm so worn out actually and this was a good lesson for the next time I should have checked the schedule first and I just realized that the schedule of Airasia bus to Genting is not available every hour.
Upon arriving in Titiwangsa at around 09.30 AM and once again long queuing and I checked in the counter that I would get bus at 11.20 AM and it was really crowded so I decided to change our plan. I told my sister and brother that better we would go to the Genting the next day, it would not be really crowded because today was Sunday, many people went to Genting.

They agreed for the changing and we headed back to the Hotel, Titiwangsa is just 2 monorail stations away, Titiwangsa --> Chow Kit --> Medan Tuanku, so after arrived in Medan Tuanku, I asked my sister to stay in the station while I and my brother went back to the hotel in order to put our jackets, my brother changed his clothes with a t-shirt.


I and my brother went back again to the Medan Tuanku station, afterwards three of us went back again to the KL Sentral, wow this was a quick change of the plan.

After arriving in KL Sentral monorail station, passed again the road to KL Sentral Station and I took KTM to Serdang, my plan was going to Mine Mall, only for 1.6 RM/person for the KTM but should wait around 30 minutes because the next KTM to Serdang was at 10.05 AM, after waited for the KTM to arrive in KL Sentral at around 10.10 AM and really crowded.We passed Mid Valley, and many stations before stopping in Serdang. It wa again and again my sister took pictures in Serdang train station and we went out the station passed over the bridge above the Sungai Besi street and went to the small pier at where a boat was waiting for people who wanted to go the Mine Malls, the ticket was 3 RM/person and it took around in 5 minutes to go to the inside mall. The concept of this mall is like in Venice or in Dubai which the mall is surrounded by water. Nice mall but actually it is a small shopping mall. We just took pictures with many angles and places in the mall and had lunch. I bought Malay Rojak and my sister tried it, the taste were so so, I think our rujak cingur is better than this rojak.

From the Mine mall, we went back to the Serdang train station by the boat again, the wheather was not really hot because the Serdang station was in a open space and it was outside KL so we still could feel the breeze.
We stopped in Mid Valley, just 1 station away before KL station and visited the Mid Valley Mega Mall, a huge modern mall, hm sale every where and so many people were inside and I guess there were many Indonesian visitors who would spent their money here he he but except us because we did not really want to go for shopping, just window shopping only. Taking pictures again it was like a habit that she could not stand if saw a nice background for taking picture he he

From Mid Valley we headed to Bukit Bintang by taxi around 10 RM only and visited Lot 10, Sungai Wang, Bukit Bintang Plaza, after that we crossed the Bukit Bintang street and went to Alor street, sttt I visited my old friend he he the Indian man who sold roti prata with the delicious gravy of curry.... yummy, I ordered 2 pieces and masam limau ice, for my sister and brother because these was the first time for them to try roti prata so they just ordered 1 piece per each and sipped`cold nescafe hmm they are really coffee mania.
Yum yum just few minutes I finished my roti prata and the delicious curry gravy and I ate the crispy fried fish (my sister said that the fish for cat he he) but I didnt care because so crispy and delicious.

I ordered 25 pieces of roti prata for bringing home on Tuesday 29/7 and agreed that I would take it before 11.00 AM, very cheap only 1 RM/each (on May only 0.9 RM/each may be due to the oil price increase), totally I paid 34 RM so for eating there it wa`only 9 RM, wanna try???

After felling full we continued to walk again to the Bukit Bintang street in front of Lot 10 and took Rapid KL Metrobus only by paying 0.9 RM/each because we just stopped in the P. Ramlee street to visit KL Tower. The tower was in the uphill so we had to walk go up passing the Puncak street.

We could see the Tower, really tough and solid as tough it challenged us to conquer.

After we arrived in the gate of the KL Tower Complex, I asked to the security guard whether it had a shuttle bus to the tower, the next bus would come in 15 minutes from no. But if we still had the energy to walk for just 5 minutes but then we should go trough the stairs. I asked my sister if she wanted to walk because she is 60 years old but she is still oke and not tired (wow she really enjoyed the trip and was really strong ya).

Finally we arrived in the KL Tower, and paid for 20 RM/person to climb the tower by the lift, many poeple visited the tower but it was not really crowded, hm the lift started going up and 50 meters, 100 meters, 150 meters, 200 meters and 250 meters , we arrived at last, hm it wa`so amazing we could see all KL not only from one side but also from all the side(360 degrees) because it was a circle and there were free telescopes so you could try it, hm i took many pictures of the building and all looked like a small building and also the Petronas twin tower looked so small.

After walking around, we went to the booth where it offered people for taking picture in Malaysia traditonal costumes and my sister was so badly want it he he, she really really narcist (may be including me too) because finally three of us wore the traditional costumes and paid for 40 RM (for one picture for maximum 4 persons), the booth was in open space so many poeple saw us and many foreigners took pictures of us too he he like famous artists ya......

My sister and brothers were really happy and finally I paid for 60 RM including developed 2 more pictures, so we got 3 pictures in one pose so every one had one memorable picture.

From KL Tower, we walked down the Puncak street and turn left passing the P.Ramlee street and turn left again passed the Tuanku Ismail street, we enjoyed the shaddow of trees along the street and went back to the hotel by monorail from Bukit Nanas to Medan Tuanku which was just one stop away, It was still around 05.00 PM, I asked my sister and brother to take a rest for a while and we would start again at 07.00 PM, I went to the ground floor, checked the emails, free internet in this hotel, after that I walked to Sogo because I really want the lemang with srikaya (steamed sticky rice layered with coconut milk blend with brown sugar) in the lower ground food court, I bought several kue-kue (traditional snack) for my brother and sister too.

It was already 07.00 PM, we were ready to explore KL City he he, before that I asked my sister to put on her brand new shoes that was bought in KLCC and took a picture with her shoes, all of us laughed but my sister did it he he, she really like the brand new shoes.
We went to the Medan Tuanku station again and again and we stopped in Imbi Station and visited Time Square shopping mall just for window shopping and took picture, and after we felt hungry, we went to the Petaling street by monorail again from Imbi station to Maharajarela station. We went down from the station and passed the old temple, there was a nice place for hokkien mee and fish cake actually, it is located in the corner near the car parking and this was a famous place for old chinese people in KL for gathering and spend their time with their friends but alas it was closed, hm I missed the fish cake and the sambal. Next time I should go here againSo we continued to Petaling and so crowded here and we had dinner in chinese outdoor restaurant, we ordered beef in black pepper sauce, kangkung (water spinach) with balacan, chicken sweet sour sauce and coconut for drinks. After having dinner which cost for around 60 RM we walked around Petaling and it was already around 10.00 PM so we headed back to the hotel by taxi cost for 10 RM because we were all so tired after climbing the KL Tower he he

We headed back to the Hotel and had to take a rest.
